The real estate auctions I have attending ended up selling the properties for about what they would have sold otherwise. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything because I was looking for a deal.
Yeh I agree most sales end up being a form of auction anyway so makes sense just limit the bidders and go direct! Good Article though.

Buying at auction is pretty scary, my advise is to make sure you have your bridging loan or mortgage (unless you are fortunate enough to be a cash buyer) ready to go as soon as the auction is finished as it's a tight deadline and a hefty deposit to lose if you don't complete on time.
Online resources are a good source nowadays and real estate auction sites are a very good platform for interaction between buyers and sellers but there are lots of precautions which are important to know from such property auction websites.
